JACKSON HOLE IN WINTER: THE ULTIMATE TRAVEL GUIDE FROM A LOCAL

Jackson Hole is undeniably one of the best vacation spots in the West during winter – or any season of the year for that matter. It boasts impeccable ski slopes, luxury resorts and hotels, and panoramic national parks that are flocked by locals and tourists, especially in the summer and winter. You’re never not gonna fall in love with this place because it has a looot to offer!

What to do in Jackson Hole during winter:

Ski Ski Ski!

How else would you spend your stay in Jackson Hole during the winter if not skiing? I mean… :]

Jackson Hole Mountain Resort is known for its steep slopes and trails for skiing but there is still a part that’s beginner-friendly. Plus, you can also get a ski lesson from the Mountain Sports School if you’re looking to get more skills and experience. On this vlog, I ski around the entire mountain, riding every lift, so you can get a look at the whole thing before coming!!

No worries you don’t have ski gear, you can rent from the resort. Get bundled up for the cold days, bring your essentials like gloves, socks, hand warmers, and neck gaiters. Check my shop for lightweight, breathable, and chic neck gaiters I designed myself!

Ride in the Aerial Tram and Gondolas

If you’re not so much into physical adventure, you can try Jackson Hole’s aerial tram and gondola rides. Enjoy sightseeing as the tram glides skywards in just 12 minutes. The summit displays a 360-degree view of the Tetons and Jackson Hole Valley. Or grab lunch or dinner at the top of the Gondy - if you’re lucky, music will be playing.

Where to eat at Jackson Hole Mountain Resort

If you go up the tram, you have to stop at Corbet’s Cabin; it’s a must if you are looking for somewhere to warm up. Order the perfect combination of their steaming hot coffee and Top of the World waffles! Not playing favorites but I do love to go here every time because it holds a special memory for me (I sat here with my dad right before my ski wedding).

If you want to chill out after skiing, the most popular place is Mangy Moose Restaurant and Saloon. The ambiance gives rustic, historic vibes as it has been in business for 50 years and is known for its good eats, live music, and unique collections of antiques….and wild partiers.

For a better look at the vibes of Jackson Hole, I’m bringing you along to two adventurous powder days - skiing inbounds of Jackson Hole Mountain Resort and backcountry skiing on the second day! Watch the full vlog!!

Visit Museums, Galleries, & SHOPS

If there’s another thing that locals in Jackson Hole are proud of, it’s got to be their numerous museums and galleries. Wild Gallery, Astoria Fine Art, & Heather James are just a few; it’s always exciting to see the art AND stay tuned as I might show my art in a gallery soon. There are also tons of cute shops to pop into and grab something to remember your trip. Make sure to stop in MADE, RODEO, and Terra.

Hot Springs

For a bit warmer activity, head to Astoria Hot Springs for a nice, long soak. With multiple pools of different temps, a changing room, and refreshments, it’s the perfect place to go with a family of all ages.

Snowmobiling

Snowmobiling in Jackson Hole offers an exhilarating adventure through breathtaking winter landscapes, from snow-covered valleys to majestic mountain peaks. Explore vast expanses of pristine snow and experience the thrill of speeding across open fields and winding trails, making unforgettable memories in this winter wonderland. Whether you're a beginner or an experienced rider, Jackson Hole's diverse terrain and scenic beauty make it a must-visit destination for snowmobiling enthusiasts. Look to go a bit north to Togwotee or into Yellowstone Park for the ultimate adventure.
