8 Ways to Sell Your Art

There are so many ways to make money from your art, though like with everything, you have to focus and put time into the ones that make sense for you. Here are eight ways to monetize your art:

1. Sell the art you have setting around: Offer your artwork for sale on your website or a third-party website or at local art fairs or cafes.

2. Licensing: Offer your artwork for commercial use such as for product design or advertising.

3. Commissioned work: Take on commissioned pieces for individuals or businesses. Pets and portraits are a really easy way to start doing this.

4. Teach: Offer workshops or classes to teach others your art skills. When I started teaching classes, I did them at a local park and advertised on Facebook.

5. Online marketplace: Sell your artwork through online marketplaces such as Etsy or Society6.

6. Print on demand: Use print-on-demand services to sell prints or products of your original artwork. I love using this method because it is so hands-off.

7. Social media: Utilize social media platforms to showcase and promote your artwork to a wider audience. Using Instagram stories is a great way to sell new or old art.

8. Collaborate with brands: Partner with companies that align with your style and aesthetic to promote their products through your art. For example, paint champagne bottles and tag the brand when you do.

Remember, the key to monetizing your art is to continuously build an audience, create valuable content, and find the right distribution channels to reach your audience. Always show off what you want to be known for so people start recognizing you as “the person who does ______.” Now get out there and sell!
